How to Frame & Display Your New Art Print
Woooh! You got a print. Now what?
We get these questions all the time:
-
“What size is this print?”
-
“Where do I find a frame for it?”
-
“How should I hang this?”
And we get it! Framing and displaying art can feel overwhelming, especially with so many styles, formats, and price points out there. But don’t worry, we’ve got some tips for you!
We created this guide to help you get started. Whether you want to go full gallery wall or just display your print on a shelf surrounded by your favorite trinkets.
First: Know Your Print Size
Most of our art prints come in standard sizes (like 11x14, 8.5x11, 12x18) so they fit into ready-made frames that you can easily find in stores or online.
Some prints, like our panoramic sizes (6x18, 10x18) might require a bit more searching, but we promise, the right frame exists!
Pro tip: Just type your print size into a site like Amazon, Michaels, or Target and see what comes up!
Example search: “10x18 frame” or “6x18 panoramic frame”
We’ve also grouped all of our prints by size in this Print Size Guide so you can easily find what you need.
Affordable + Easy Framing Options
1. Ready-Made Frames
Stores like IKEA, Target, and your local craft stores usually have a ton of frames in standard sizes. These are easy-to-find and budget-friendly.
2. Wood Hanger Frames
These magnetic-style frames clip at the top and bottom of your print, so you don’t need glass or matting.
3. Thrifted Frames
This is a great low-waste option. Thrift stores are gold mines for cool, vintage frames. BUT it requires a little digging and patience. You can find unique shapes, colors, and textures. Even if it’s not the exact size, you can use a mat or backing paper to make it work!
4. Back It Up
Want to go big? Use a larger frame and create your own custom mat with backing paper (like kraft, linen, or even patterned scrapbook paper). This is a fun way to personalize and add color or texture to your framed piece.

5. Online Framing Services
Want more control over the final look? Online framing services like Framebridge and Frame It Easy let you fully customize your frame, from the size to the color, mat style, and finish. These services are great if you like picking all the details, but don’t want to DIY it from scratch. Just input your print’s dimensions, customize, and they’ll ship it to you ready for assembly and hanging. It’s an easy way to get a polished, personal look without the stress or hefty price tag.
Pro tip: Some online services also allow you to upload your image or mail in your print and they’ll take care of everything.
6. Local Framing Services
If you’re feeling a little fancier, or want your piece to last a lifetime, take it to a local framer. You can talk through options like archival glass (protects against UV), acid-free mats and backings, as well as custom frame materials. Plus, you get to support a local business!
